Types of Invasive Antenatal procedures which a limited ultrasound scan is included post procedure
When an invasive antenatal procedure is performed, confirmation of the fetal heart beat or a systole post procedure is in included in the work of the procedure and should not be billed separately.
Invasive Antenatal Procedures:
1. 59000 Amniocentesis; diagnostic and 76946 Ultrasonic guidance for amniocentesis, imaging supervision and interpretation
2. 59001 Amniocentesis; therapeutic amniotic fluid reduction (includes ultrasound guidance)
3. 59012 Cordocentesis (intrauterine), any method and 76941 Ultrasonic guidance for intrauterine fetal transfusion or cordocentesis, imaging supervision and interpretation
4. 59015 Chorionic villus sampling, any method and 76945 Ultrasonic guidance for chorionic villus sampling, imaging supervision and interpretation
5. 59070 Trans abdominal amnioinfusion, including ultrasound guidance
6. 59072 Fetal umbilical cord occlusion, including ultrasound guidance
7. 59074 Fetal fluid drainage (eg, vesicocentesis, thoracocentesis, paracentesis), including ultrasound guidance
8. 59076 Fetal shunt placement, including ultrasound guidance
