Dr. Blair Wylie will present the MFM Fellow Lecture: Climate-related Exposures and Pregnancy Health: A Focus on Heat and Diagnosing Heat-related Illness.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the impact of climate change on the health of pregnant individuals and their pregnancies.
- Characterize the unequal burden of climate change among certain populations in the US and internationally and how this contributes to widening perinatal inequities.
- Recognize the specific risks associated with acute heat exposure, how to diagnose heat-related illnesses, and how their presentation mimics routine pregnancy complications.
The 50-minute didactic lecture is followed by 10-15 minutes of live Q&A.
